What can I expect during a session?

Each session begins with grounding and intention-setting. You’ll then be guided through a rhythmic breathing pattern accompanied by music designed to support emotional release and integration. You may experience sensations such as tingling, temperature changes, or emotional release — all normal signs that energy is moving through the body. The session concludes with rest and integration, allowing you to feel balanced and renewed.

Do I need prior experience with breathwork?

Not at all. Somatic Breathwork sessions are for the seasoned breather, the curious, the seeker, and the beginner. Laura will guide you through each step with care, creating a supportive space that honors your pace and your body’s wisdom.

Contraindications

This practice is intended for personal growth and is not a substitute for psychotherapy.

It is not appropriate for individuals who are:

- Pregnant

- Diagnosed with cardiovascular issues (e.g., angina, history of a heart attack, uncontrolled high blood pressure)

- Experiencing glaucoma, retinal detachment, osteoporosis, a history of seizures, stroke, or major psychiatric conditions

- Recovering from recent surgery or acute infectious illness

- Diagnosed with epilepsy

- If you have asthma, please consult with your doctor and bring your inhaler to your session.

When in doubt, always consult your physician before participating.

Must be over the age of 18 to participate in a session.

What are the benefits of Somatic Breathwork?

Participants often report:

Greater calm and emotional balance

Reduced stress and anxiety

Increased body awareness and intuition

Improved focus and presence

A deeper sense of connection — to self and others

Each person’s experience is unique, but many describe it as a powerful return home to themselves.

How long is a session?

A full Somatic Breathwork session lasts approximately 90 minutes.

Shorter offerings are also available for wellness events and retreats, including:

The Reset Session (30 min) – A gentle nervous system recalibration, perfect for retreats, workshops, or corporate wellness settings.

What should I wear or bring?

Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to breathe and move freely. You may wish to bring water, a journal, a yoga mat, a small blanket, and an open heart. Full Journey Breathwork Sessions are typically experienced lying down.

Reset and Mindful Daily Practice somatic exercises can be experienced comfortably seated.

For virtual/remote sessions, quality headphones and the use of a laptop or desktop computer are recommended for the best experience.

It’s best to avoid eating for 1–2 hours before your session so your body can focus on the breathwork experience rather than digestion. When you eat, much of your blood flow is directed toward your digestive system, which can make deep breathing less comfortable. A light stomach helps your body stay relaxed and your breath flow more freely.
